Carhartt – Work In Progress (HK) Office and Showroom

九龍灣Carhartt辦公室及陳列室

Carhartt Work In Progress (HK)’s new office and showroom is located in Billion Centre, Kowloon Bay – Hong Kong, and has a total floor area of 2,200 square feet which is divided into 2 halves, with the office occupying the left side of the entrance which connects to the private showroom on the right. In keeping with Carhartt’s company profile, the space was kept modern with simple raw materials, and polished with designer lighting, furniture and fittings, the overall effect is to create an unconventional office with a mix of old and new elements making it a fun place to work!

The office and showroom is divided by a white brick tiled wall with an oak sliding door made from timber flooring. The floor is natural cement rendered, custom furniture made in recycled timber panels from boat yards in Thailand creates an interesting pattern for the dividers and partitions.

The meeting room and directors room is separated by tinted glass partitions with black aluminum framing, meeting (Monastery) table is made in the Netherlands from 200 year old oak coupled with meeting chairs from Sedus, built in video conferencing system and LCD TV.

Director’s room is equipped with furniture from Vitra and lighting from Artemide, a custom set of black lockers offsets the glass partitions and contrasts the white brick wall behind.

The showroom walls are also finished in white bricks with oak timber shelves and built-in LED lighting cantilevered over the clothes racks made from metal pipe fittings, center meeting table is custom made from oak timber flooring, in contrast to the concrete floor which gives a warmer feeling to the showroom. All interior lighting is controlled by Lutron electronic dimming systems.
